Adding Pages (or sub pages)? & making side widgets smaller? (singe column of box ads)

I would like to add sub pages onto one of the pages of my site. Basically I want to add a business directory (on one of the buttons on the main navigation bar in the header, which i manually upload with business names, i dont need a full on business directory theme), but i will need a page for each category (about 10 sub-pages). I cant see any way to do this, can anyone show me please, as i would have thought it would be easy to add sub pages??

I would also like to make the side widget smaller, ive put the block of 4 'box ads' widget on there, but would ideally like it narrower so it is a single culumn of 8-10 box adverts, with the main body of the website a lot wider.

    I found this link:

but it doesnt seem to make that much difference to the size, can I just alter the px sizes to make the sidebar even narrower or was there a reason they could only do it this much?

    Thankyou
