reCaptcha and others for child theme

Hello forum. I have been able to make a lot of changes to my Classipress (3.1.5) thanks to some great threads. Now I'm creating a very basic child theme Golf-list. All of the changes I want to make in the child theme were easy to make in direct files, but I’ve run into a few that I cannot get to work when I try to incorporate them into my child theme. I was hoping this thread could help those of us who are novices, have made changes already discussed throughout the forum, but now want to add them to child themes (please forgive my terminology if it is a bit off).

Here’s number 1: reCaptcha on the single ad contact tab

This works great when I modify directory files (no child theme), but I cannot get the same result in my child theme when I copy sidebar-contact.php to the child theme and modify it. I know the child theme is active because I can see all the changes I’ve made to the header.php, sidebar.php, and sidebar-ad.php files. I know I've got barukar's code right because when I copy it to the directory file sidbar-contact.php the reCaptcha appears. Finally, I’ve cleared cache after changes but it doesn’t do anything. Do I have to alter the functions.php file to make this work or is it soemthing else?
