I just got it myself for the exact same reason...it will take some time to getting used to but in the end it is a fairly easy to use template. You really need to start with the installation guide it...

yes, i disabled jet pack and now what I originally described is happening...i get 4 ad blocks with only "advertise here 125x125" in the boxes.
