Restoring blog categories

Hi,

I deleted some of my categories located in the blog section. They are not there any more but when I go back to my blog category list from the admin back end I keep having an empty slots for categories?? Can anyone help me with this?

I am trying to restore some deleted categories from my blog by using my web hosting restoring process but when I do that I restore everything in the website to an earlier date which I don't want to do. which folder or file I can restore in my database to get my categories back without having to restore everything?

The categories are stored on the database and so you can try just importing the categories table using PhpMyAdmin. You can check the wordpress official codex here http://codex.wordpress.org/Database_Description for the database structure and for retrieving the database using PhpMyadmin http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups.
