Hmmm. I am looking but I don't see the sidebar widget mentioned or displayed. Nothing posted newer than May 7.

Right now its ONLY on the homepage, and its on the right column (sidebar) and all it does is list the featured items links in bold green.

Fun, I just got the sidebar widget to display "category specific" featured listings. Wohoo. Still needs the "layout" that I'm hoping you will assemble, but if not I'm sure I'll get to it eventually.

You can see in my test category that the motorcycle ad is not featured, and does not show up in the widget links, however the "featured tester" which is obviously a "sticky" featured posting DOES show up. Awesome!

I also already have it excluding blog posts specified in the classipress... although I better test it outside classipress to see if it crashes wordpress lol.

Builtin some checks and balances to work outside of classipress. Also you can BEST see its funcitonliaty at this link where I posted a bunch of test featured ads and like 1 or 2 NON featured ads. It should be obviously which ones are not featured, and notice that it randomly loads 3 featured posts, that are different on each page load.

Wicked cool. Anyways, I'm sure there is a way to setup a variable and let the user choose how many posts to show or to show them all. Then we need to build the option to place it in the carousel, but I will need help where somebody hard codes it into their sidebar page before I'll try that.

anyone care to build a jquery carousel for the sidebar? just submit your code here to the forum and I'll add an option for classipress members to convert the widget into a carousel.

One question: Can I make a post sticky and turn off show Featured scroller in Classipress Pricing setting page and just have the sidebar Featured widget show sticky posts?

Its still really under development, but yes, you could disable the featured slider and use sidebar. I'm fighting with the wordpress query function and after downloading about 6 other widgets I'm finding out that I need to just write my own SQL query rather then rely on the WP_Query(), since the query is being effected by other elements on the page.

Version 1.0.1 will fix this issue. The widget works best right now on the "single ads" sidebar, since for some reason its actually doing what its supposed to on that page. I'm gonna give it one last shot with the wordpress query function before I build my own SQL call.

Seth, I have taken your Sticky (Featured Listings) widget and modded it to make a Vertical Slider Auto-scrolling Featured Listing Sidebar Widget.

PM your email and I will send you a zip file of the widget to take a look at it.
