    Not receiving email notifications.

    I am having a problem receiving and sending email notifications. Originally I was using an email hosted (i.e. contact@site.co.uk) but a lot of email was going to spam and so I decided to switch to gmail. When doing this I receive no emails at all, no notifications of new members or anything. Members also do not receive new account notifications (occasionally they do but this seems intermittent). This was all working fine. My hosting is with godaddy, I spoke with them and they think it is a code issue, though I don't know. Could anyone help at all?
