Search Filter Glitch

The search filter in the child theme only works when you enter a category by selecting the category icon in the search bar then selecting your category.

All other ways of navigating to a category results in no search filter showing up.

Its the same in your demo. Im not sure if your aware.

I have a search filter plugin that I can use if I could remove your filter completely, or is there a fix to this glitch?
