    Limiting checkboxes

    In ACFCP Ad Fields > Formats and Limitations I have a 'cp_type' field row that uses checkboxes; I would like to limit the number of checkboxes it is possible to check to 4. I understand that it is possible to do this, yet my settings do not work in any of the below combinations.

    format of values / limitations of values / limitations attributes /
    default or integer / max or maxchoice / 4 /

    I can't find any reference to, or examples of this in this forum or by Googling. Please could you let me know which settings I should be using? Thanks.
