Simple Ads Manager APP Uses WP Category not Theme Category

Hi,

This is my first post and i spent ages trawling the net and the forum to find a similar thread but had no luck so apologies in advance if this is in the wrong thread category. I am a club member and have successfully installed and modified the themes to my requirements however there is 1 issue that i just cant fix and its driving me crazy

My problem is... I am running a plugin called Simple Ads Manager, it is exactly what a need because it manages and rotates Ads in zones that i want them to appear (single listing, main page etc.) however heres the scenario I cant sort out...

I am running the Vanatage theme as a directory of my local town and i am selling advertising space in the sidebar to local businesses... Heres where I'm stuck...

Example. A user visits the site, goes to categories tab on the menu bar and clicks the restaurant category (It is at this point that the user in "buying mode" for a restaurant so it is here where i want the advert to appear in the sidebar for our paid restaurant advertiser) , the page is populated with a list of all the restaurants from our database on the left and on the right in the side bar is the advert...(PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD SO FAR) This will be the same scenario for florists, builders... and all the other categories etc etc!

I am using simple ads manager to manage my adverts and it is possible to do this by controlling where an individual advert appears and does not appear using the settings in the back end of the plugin... Heres where the problem lies though... Simple ads manager gives the option to show and not show an advert in a category page which is exactly what i want but the plugin only seems to recognise the original WP posts Categories... as in "Uncategorised" and does not allow me to set parameters according to the themes "Listing Categories".
