Auction and Reverse Auction Features!!!

Hi all,

Interested in auction features on ClassiPress?
Please post a reply in this particular thread and David see the interest of his clients and might decide to integrate these features in future versions of ClassiPress.

First of all, i assume everyone knows what is an auction, thats something like eBay.
A reserve auction is what you see on for example freelance boards (GetAFreelancer.com is an example)

-. Visitors/members can choose between a Classified Ad, Auction or Reverse Auction.
-. Admin can enable/disable one or more features so that visitors/members are not able to choose one of these when they create a new ad.

Example:

Admin disabled classified ad and auction, so visitors/members are only able to create reverse auctions.
If admin disabled classified ad only, visitors/members are only able to create and to choose between an auction or a reverse auction.
Etcetera.

Auction options would be great to include in CP. I don't know if I'd use them, but would appreciate the choice. Would love a location filter before this tho.

I really need this feature - with a really good extended search capabilities.
(filters like: classified/auction, price range, location, etc.)

This will be great feature but I just don't know how far a wordpress theme can handle this kind of function and expansion.

Thanks for the replies for so far.
Good to see i'm not the only one who find the above mentioned features awesome and a great value for ClassiPress.

If ClassiPress will get these new features integrated, i feel sure David will blowout his sales for sure as it has all these features combined into one theme.

Classipress is primarily designed as a classifieds theme and to be more viable and not to alienate others who are using classipress as a classifieds platform, David can create a separate theme specifically for auctions, imho.

Why create a seperate theme?
As mentioned by me, the admin must be able to enable/disable one or more of these features.
If you don't want to use auctions, classified ads or reverse auctions.... simply disable it in the adminpanel.

Well, i just did a feature suggestion here wich i think it will be an awesome package if it works how i (and others here) suggest.
If David feel bored and want to make ClassiPress more advanced then he knows what to do
Do you feel a challenge already David???

I was just about to go with a software that offered both auctions and classifieds. Had been researching them for almost 6 months and was sold on them.

And the night I went to order, I did a quick search for wp classifieds and found CP. I went with CP because of the ease and functionality was better than the software I was going to purchase. Best yet, CP was only at a fraction of the price.

I would love to see an auction type software that would easily integrate into the classifieds. It would be so nice and offer users a choice.

It would also retain users as they would constantly come back to check the auctions they are bidding on.

I'd be the first to sign up for it.

I didn't look good at it, as the site required me to create an account to test a little and i had not the energy to create an account that time
Well i think it's great to have an all-in-one package i described above already.
If you can create a reverse auction, then it wouldn't be hard to make a auction feature i guess.
