Exclude Categories
It might be possible to use a category for actual blog posts (with a little work), but the first step would be to hide the "blog" category from the dropdown list when creating a new ad.
A simple checkbox feature next to each category (on the CP config page in dashboard) should be sufficient. Simply uncheck the ones you don't want in the dropdown.
