Highly recommended features to create a successful site!

First of all: Great work on ClassiPress! I think it has the potential to become something massive.

Unfortunately like with everyother script I've bought (thousands of dollars to date) I have yet to find one that successfully integrates "key" elements. "Key" elements to make the site a huge success. The following I believe are really important:

- The payment on ClassiPress is by far one of the best I've ever seen, but it would be nice to have a FREE option and a PAID option together. In other words, normal ads are free, but if someone wants their post ontop for "x" amount of days then they pay.

- Many scripts I've tried fail massively to integrate reality into their scripts. With big classified ad sites, like craiglist for example a visitor can select both category and location to browse. This is very important if a site grows... In ClassiPress, the categories are smooth but there is a limit to the amount of categories you can implement nicely. In terms of location, ClassiPress fails... There is no browsing by location.

- Renew ads and repeat visits. What makes the big players in the online classifieds field so successful? Repeat visits. If I post today for example on XYZ.com then in 30 days I get an email with a renew link. This automatically reminds me of site XYZ.com. After 5 repeats I will have the site XYZ.com impregnated into my mind....

Please don't take my comments as criticism, I am convinced that if you manage to add these features your script can blow all others off the table!!!

Glad to hear you agree... I've spent thousands of dollars and tried most if not all scripts on the market. I have at least a dozen sites running some sort of classified ads. Some even for over 5 years with huge investments on marketing and promotion. Until this day I have not found a script that offers me something that I feel will take my sites to the next level.

I have some sites running with 10,000 - 20,000 and even 50,000 ads... Hosting costs are huge, maintenance is very time consuming and income is literally minimum. This is a real shame and hopefully one day someone will be capable of bringing a script that has features that are realistic and practical and most importantly address the need for monetization....

Hi Giorgioarmani! Thanks for all of your suggestions, I think what I'm most excited about is this entire community being able to give input on how ClassiPress can get better and better. Would you mind sharing any links of the sites you run? I'd be thrilled to be able to visit them!

Very good suggestion.

Another way is having a private messaging system like vbulletin and phpbb PM to replace to contact seller. So buyer need to come to the site to view messages. This brings a lot of return traffic.
