Selectable tags

In addition to having the input box for tags, if we could offer the user the option to pick from currently used tags list or drag and drop box that would make it faster/easier for posting once listings start to populate the list. That way it would make for more consistent tagging. Thanks.

Would be a nice feature for the admin atleast.

I don't know if a new user would be familiar with what to do with such a feature.

I'm gonna do something like this with custom taxonomies.

From what I've read. we can create custom taxonomies within wordpress. They are like tags, but you define them with another name than tags, and they can have their own taxonomic tag clouds. Then I'll figure out how to add several dropdown menus in the post form for each based on a custom taxonomy. Then I'll be able to define URL structures to display listings with various intersections of category/tag/customtaxonomy1/customtaxonomy2/etc. The possibilities here are endless.

the tidy tags plugin already clears that up. And for the query search you can justify the & to filter tags and categories. I am close to finishing a similar feature for a client. I wll show it if they allow me to make it public.

Instead of a drop and drag interface how about making the tag input line an auto-complete suggestion input box. So when the user starts to put in tags the system suggests tags previously used. If the tagging is very inconsistent it defeats the purpose of having a tag cloud in the first place. Thanks.

For total automation, I'd like to hide the tags input field and have a process create the tags based on the ad content using keywords or tags suggestions from Yahoo Term Extractions API or Tag The Net.
