Ability to create Custom Thumbnail for Each Category

I am not a programmer, and this might be impossible... but I think it would be awesome.

It would be great to be able to assign default thumbnails for each category that would appear when someone did not submit a photo. So instead of showing "no image available" when someone has a room for rent... as generic photo of a house would appear that says "Room for Rent", so just seeing the image would give a person an idea of what the category is.

It can definitely be implemented using the wordpress "<?php if (in_category()) { ?> function. You can assign a picture for each category and somehow call them using that function.

I have not implemented it but you can start with using the above wordpress function.

I am glad to know it is possible... but it is beyond my programming knowledge to know where to, and how to implement that code.

Maybe one of you programmers out there might want to create a short tutorial on how to do that

Good question. Classipress demo site has that but I did not see that icon option in 3.0.3 when creating new categories.

Is there any documentation to implemented "<?php if (in_category()) { ?> function? I am not a php/wordpress programmer.

Any status on category icon tutorials? I would think, there would be an option to upload image when editing or creating a category in v3.0.4.
