[ HELP ] Need help with child Theme

Ok i have lost all my hair and i did not have much with child themes. I read the child theme tutorial and that was fine and worked as stated. I am a few questions and issues that is preventing me from getting pass the tutorial. Oh i am a newbie... with no php skills but will to learn.

1. Can I completely change the layout of classipress. Not just CSS i really do not want my site to look like everyones elses.

2. The tutorial said if I changed the the files in the include folder of any other file then wordpress ready that first, but i have removed header code and remade my header in theme-header.php and no effect. Am I missing something.

3. Don't want the standard layout of classipress and I want to try and completely redo it.

Please help the tutorial posted by developers seem to only address styling by css and nothing more. There has to be another step that was not included.

P.S. Mods if this is in the wrong section please move, and if you just going to tell me its not possible with no insight and if it ever will stop. I am so tired of mods just giving its not possible and you need to go to vote to see it can be added. Completely not constructive help in my opinion but then again I am angry at time.
