Adding categories in custom fields

I had to remove the breadcrumb feature at the top of the single ad page once I updated to 3.0.5.4 because some of my ads are listed in multiple categories and it would only list the first category (whereas prior to the upgrade it would display them all).

I asked on this forum but no one seemed able to tell me how to correct this, so I removed the breadcrumb code from the single-ad listing page as advertisers would complain that it looked like they were only in one category and they wanted to be listed in others.

I would like to have the categories show up though, and I would like them to be clickable. Can anyone tell me how to add it/them into the ad body to show up as a field? Without the information having to be entered again that is?

Failing that, can anyone tell me how to make the breadcrumb show all the ad categories that an ad is listed in?
