Adding Register button to Login page (instead of text)

Hello,

When a user clicks the "place an ad" button on the main page they are taken to the login page. If they are not registered they don't have any username and password. They then have to click the rather small "register" text at the bottom of the page. Is there any way to make this text into a button in the same style as "log in" etc. Also would it be possible to ad some text to the login page that explains to the new users that they should click this button?
