    Center Align Footer Text

    I have Classipress running with Multiport Childtheme and I am trying to center align my footer text. I tried adding "text-align:center;" on the footer section of the style sheet for Classipress - it did not center.. even tried adding that code to teh style sheet for the multiport childtheme.. it didnt work.. even tried using <center> ... </center> in the footer.php file but it didnt work either.. and cannot find a similar post to get any idea.. anyone know how to center the text on my footer? See screenshot..
