Changing the size of listings on search results page to fit in a large number
It occurs to me that if things go to plan, I might have hundreds of ads in one category, and if someone clicks on the category heading instead of searching for a specific term, they are going to get one very long results page.
Is there a way to make the result blocks smaller so that more can fit into a page? Perhaps have just the title of the ad which is clickable (with/without the photo), and they go across the width of the page, so that more can be fitted in? Perhaps in columns like we can list the ad categories in, except perhaps 5 instead of 3 max).
I know this will mean a modification, but is it very complicated to have perhaps one big shadowblock, and all the titles listed in it, rather than separate shadow blocks? Or has someone done something similar they can share?
Also, I know ads can be listed by most recent, or by alphabetical order. Is there a way of listing them randomly, so no one ad appears at the top of the list every time?
Thanks
