Classified ads in sub-section of site rather than main page

What I'd like to do is use the Classipress 3.0 theme as the theme for my entire site. Every page will still have the header, nav bar, sidebar, and slider as usual. However, on the main page, rather than showing recently listed ads, I would like to have something else, something I can change whenever I want. The recent posts which are normally displayed on the main page will now be on a sub-section of the site which is accessible when you click the "classifieds" link in the nav bar.

So my question is how does one take the main section of the main page (the section with the recently listed ads) and move that to another section of the site? And then how can I create something in that space to use as my home page?

I already know I can install Classipress in a sub-directory of my site on a separate installation of WP. That's not the problem. The problem is using the same header/slider/sidebar/footer for the entire site which just relocating the classified ad listings, and also giving me a way to edit the main section of the home page which will now no longer hold the recent listings.

Some hints as to how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated!
