Classipress: How to hide/unhide optional fields in the form, with a button

    Hi All,

I use Classipress, and I have created forms with many fields, where users can add a lot of details of the technical equipment that they sell. (merkawind.com)
This is very good for many users that want to add all those details. Many of those fields are optional, because users may not know that information.

The problem is that many users get bored when they open the form to create an ad and see a long list of fields to fill in. Even if there are many of those fields that are optional. I have even added the word "(optional)" at the end of the name of those fields and write it as well in the tooltip, but the first impression scares and makes many users not to finally create the ad. These are mainly the kind of users that like to keep things simple, and prefer to create their ads in facebook, with a couple of pictures and a sentence as description, for example.

What I would like to do, is modify Classipress so the form to create an ad shows firstly just the required fields, and there's a button "More optional information" to unhide the rest of the form. It must not be necessary to unhide the optional fields to create the add. So the users that want to keep it simple, can just fill in a couple of fields, description and price and create it, and the ones who like to add a lot of details are able to unhide this part of the form and add those details

Conceptually doesn't seem very complicated (of course modifiying the code), but is it? would it require a huge modification of the php code?

Thanks in advance for your advices!!

    Alvaro
