Compatibility with Varnish
I recently upgraded to a DreamPress account which features Varnish (
https://www.varnish-cache.org/) in order to improve speed. However, I haven't seen speed improvements. So, I contacted DreamHost support and this is what they said:
From DreamHost : "The first issue is that your theme's
security function may be stopping Varnish from functioning, so you may
want to temporarily disable that to see if performance picks up at all:
/
wp-content/themes/classipress/includes/theme-security.php It's likely
creating cookies that could be interfering with Varnish." Also check to see if something else is creating a "php session which will guarantee Varnish to not
function. This is the most likely source of the problem as PHP sessions
it will stop Varnish completely from functioning."
Does anyone have experience with Varnish on a Classipress site? Any advice?
