Custom Search Fields

I'd like to implement the following:

All my ad posted will have a custom field called "State" ("Estado" in portuguese, but it doesn't matter here), this field will be a dropdown where members will be able to choose between several states (Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Parana).

So I'd like the search bar has a dropdown where members can search for an advertising of a specific state. So if they are looking for an apartament they can filter to see only ads from "Bahia".
