Different pagination on home page and category pages

Hi,

I've set my wordpress reading settings to show 6 posts. Now, my homepage and category pages both show 6 ads and then have pagination for more ads. But I want to increase the number of ads shown in a category page, because 6 is too less for category page and perfect for a homepage where i need to show multiple categories.

So, how can I increase the number of ads shown on the category pages?
