EU VAT regulations
(Hope this is the right part of the forum to post something like this)
I won't blame anyone if you didn't know, because I also only discovered it today. And I am in The Netherlands...that's *cough* EU.
Since 1 January 2015 you now have to apply the VAT rate of the country where your customer is at the very moment he buys ad space.
How the hell are you going to determine that?
IP address? Has the European Commission never heard of TOR, VPN and proxy?
Now I have these all blocked, but I had other reasons to do so
But you can only set one tax rate in Classipress. It should be possible to set it per EU country and that Classipress bases the tax rate on IP address.
This is only reliable when indirect connections to your website are blocked.
When country can't be determined, the checkout process should be blocked/interrupted by the system.
And the other way: block all 27 and a half EU memberstates and just sell your ad space to countries where they don't have unmaintainable VAT constructions.
The links below are NOT spam, but they explain it better than I can.
