Extend Profile (adding a verified badge)?

hi!

i would like to be able to implement some sort of human verification in order to raise the trust level of using the site.

ideally, i will be using a process like SMS Verification, maybe business registration or IDs they can send manually. then after verification i will be putting a Verified Badge on their profile. something like the attached file.

so now my question is how to do it.

and maybe i can put a box there for verification but my problem is how to prevent users from writing on it?

is there anybody who'd be willing to help with this.

maybe something like if not admin, profile verification box cannot be updated?
