Hide 3rd level categories from index-directory

I know, theres already a thread about this, but it says [TUTORIAL] which might cause developers ignoring it. The tutorial doesnt work.
And I think hiding 3rd level categories is important since classipress/wordpress cant handle it correctly, it looks like ****. Its a big issue.

Today it can look like this:

Europe
--Berlin
--France
--Germany
--Lyon
--Norway
--Oslo
--Paris

Either it should look like this:

Europe
--France
-----Lyon
-----Paris
--Germany
-----Berlin
--Norway
-----Oslo

Or, the possibility to exclude 3rd level:

Europe
--France
--Germany
--Norway

Mods are free to delete this post, but then remove[TUTORIAL] from the original thread. Ppls getting kind a frustrating in there.
