    Question how do I exclude categories from displaying on index-directory.php?

    I want to hide a category on the index-directory.php page.

    I want to use the wordpress post from email feature to allow users to post to a category from their email, lets say its called "Rates", only I don't want this category displaying in the list on index page...

    Can I use an exclude function in the code and if so where?
