Individual category ad listing periods/ ad packs ad listing period

I'm using 3.4 and want each category with its own ad listing period (i.e jobs 14 days, items 14 days, etc) and for the time being all free. However on the admin>settings it only gives you one date that applies to all categories. I went into ad packs and could change individual dates for each category however when the user posts an ad in each category it showed the ad pack selection however it did not change the ad listing date and used the date on the admin > settings page instead still as the expiration date. If I left that page blank it would show the expire date as 364 and 23 hours. So I'm looking for the best way to either manually change the code or change the ad packs so the ad listing period is the correct date shown.
