Make Categories Read left to right instead of top to bottom

I'm trying to figure out how to make my categories on the home page read left to right instead of top to bottom.

Can anyone help out with that?

I have the category order plugin and can re-arrange them that way but I plann to have a bunch of categories and it would be a huge pain to do it that way.
