Making customizations to includes/actions.php

All,
I'm using CLassiPress version 3.4

My goal is to edit the meta data in the front listings page (such as the clock/date stamp).

My understanding from researching the threads is that the file to edit is includes/actions.php
Changes to code in both functions cp_ad_loop_meta & cp_blog_post_meta return no resulting changes that I can see anywhere.
Total deletion of these two functions has no effect on the listings page.
I see nothing in the functions file to indicate an issue.
Editing the function cp_ad_loop_price in the same file DOES show changes, so I know the file is being called correctly.

Am I missing something here?
Was maybe there been a change in CP version release 3.4?
