Modifying the login page

I would like to modify my login page on my child theme. I would like to add a registration button to the login page, because if a guest clicks on "Post new add" it only displays the login, with no registration. The visitor could be confused, if he doesn't see the register link at the top of the page.

So I've come this far, that the file that needs to be modified is includes/forms/login/login-form.php. It works if I modify it in the Classipress theme, but it isn't working if I copy it to the same location in my child theme.

Why is that? Thanks
