Nav Bar

Hi
I have 2 questions - have looked through the forums but cannot find answer

I am using the red theme and wonder is it possible to change the size of the nav bar to fit to the size of the actual site.
The top nav with the log in and dashboard is fine but I would like to have the nav with Home, Categories etc to be the same size as site width

Also is it possible to have the background of the site (just width of site) changed to white and have the bg on sides the blue colour.
