    Remove Items from Category Menu

    I would like to be able to exclude some individual ad categories from the default category menu.

    I've been searching other threads (some very old and referring to deprecated files) and looking through the code for "get_category" functions and "exclude" arguments.

    No luck so far. Can anyone help?

    Note: This is not about category depth so theme options do not help here. And I am referring to the main menu category drop down not the search menu.
