Side Bar Category Submenus

Hi Folks

I am using Classipress 3.3.1

and would like to know if this can be done or has been done by anyone

I have lots of subcategories up to 300 in any particular category

when you click on a category and go to the category page you are presented with the subcategories in a sidebar

but they look unsightly when you have a lot as in my case.

So the question is can the subcategories be displayed in a scrolling box showing maybe 20 or so and the user can scroll down in the box to see the rest of them?

I hope this makes sense.
