Unacceptable Issues with Classipress Email
The first thing I would say, to whom it concerns, is please do not mark this thread as solved when it is not.
I think I have read nearly every forum thread on classipress emails, there have been continual issues for years, and marking threads as solved when they are not is misleading.
Things to achieve in this thread:
- Fully Functioning Emails
- Adding Headers (BCC, CC) to emails.
Every time I pay to renew and update Classipress it seems to do more damage then good.
The issues that I have spent much time fixing in previous versions have been reinvented or reoccur in newer versions. None are more frustrating then the email issues because when these aren't working it undermines and makes a classified ads site, that relies on a contact form, useless.
The main issues with email in recent years have been with DMARC regulations and aol/yahoo.com addresses.
I'm not a developer but the fix for this issue in previous versions of classipress seemed fairly simple.
1. Make the 'from' address a constant:
you@yourwebsite.com
2. Add a 'reply-to' header with the enquirers' email.
The new version of classipress 3.4.1 this is no longer possible.
There is a workaround in place that will work for some, but definitely won't work for others, meaning many enquiry emails are going nowhere or never actually sent.
It also means that if an advertiser receives one of these emails they will be replying to a useless email address.
The first step to achieve in this thread is to prove that support for appthemes exists and a developer or employee to explain this change that was implemented. I am not a developer, but will then try and explain why it doesn't work for the community.
