    Wordpress theme framework as child theme ?

    Can we use genesis or headway or some kind of theme framework as a child theme to classipress ?
    Basically what i have gathered is that they are built to be parent themes and cannot be used as child themes.
    I am wondering if there is a framework out there that can be used as a classipress child theme
