    Change classipress folder

Is there a reason why we have to keep the classipress theme folder named "classipress" per the install instuctions?

The reason I ask is because, I would like to change it's name so I can use a theme switcher.

No the classipress is a theme how you going to change it? If you change it then you take the theme away and the script /theme

I love to help out you out but please read this first Have you tried to install in a root domain? Have you tried to Resave permalinks? Have you tried to disable all plug in? Have you tried the default theme of Wordpress?

Not sure I follow your logic. I have never seen a theme that you couldn't rename it's folder besides this one. I can understand not being able to rename uploads/classipress folder but, the theme folder itself shouldn't be tied to anything unless there is something hard coded in.

So is there something that is hard coded into classipress that would cause problems when you rename it's folder?

    Re: Change classipress folder

It will be gone? where does it go? I am talking about the folder that the theme is in which is why it shouldn't make a difference whether you rename it or not. You might have to deactivate it before you rename the folder but other then that it really shouldn't matter. I think I will try to send in a support request to double check just to be sure since it does say in the install instructions to not rename it. Thanks!

Oh, and by the way, I titled this post as "Change classipress folder" though, it should have been titled "Rename classipress folder", since that would be more fitting.

Hey Natetronn, I also might like to rename the folder so if you find an answer please let us know.

    Re: Change classipress folder

Changing the theme folder name shouldn't cause any problems. Just don't use dashes or spaces otherwise it will not work properly. This is a known WordPress issue.

FYI: If you change the uploads/classipress folder name it will break things.
