Default dashboard for users

I made a user account just to see what was available to them and saw that there a few items showing that I do not want to be available for users.

WordPress Development Blog and Other WordPress News and maybe Incoming Links

Is there a way to set it to not show up for users accounts(contributor)?

Also is there away in the drop down list of Categories to make the parent category show up in bold?

This is a WordPress issue and the best way to prevent users from wandering around your dashboard area is to install this plugin. Looks like you will also need to install the Role Manager plugin as well. This will only show them a link to edit their profile.

Cool! thanks the WP Hide Dashboard plugin did not work but the IWG Hide Dashboard works perfectly thanks a lot.

What settings do we need to configure after installing both IWG and Role Manager plugins?
