    Different Types of Users

    Hey Guys,

I just bought and installed Classipress so far so good.

Anyways I have 1 question. How do I configure the site so that there are 2 types of users the users who can post classified and users who can't post anything they can just apply (ie contact the people who posted the classified)

In your CP settings > General Configuration, you should have the option "Ad posting permissions" set to "No" (so that unregistered users cannot post ads).

By default you should have users who register set up as "Contributors", and users who want to contact them via ads don't need a logon.

    Re: Different Types of Users

    Hi,

I guess what I am trying to do is,

Have people register but 2 types of people people who want to apply to the ads and people who want to post ads.

    eg. employer and employee.

employer can post ads, and employees can read ads and post CV/Resume

    Re: Different Types of Users

Well if you want only registered users to be able to contact advertisers, this thread addresses this aspect: http://wpclassipress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=616. Note David's comment that the next version will have this feature included.

From that point you can control all user access by using the WP Dashboard user settings - however this is obviously going to take manual effort to separate the types of users, but it is achievable.
