    Forums added to Classipress

I've noticed that some of the showcase sights have forums that are in conjunction with their sites. Is this something a newbie can set up or is this something to be left to the Big Boys/Girls?

The plugin i use for my forums on the showcase site http://swgdirectory.com you can get from here:

    http://www.fahlstad.se/wp-plugins/wp-forum/

You will still need to change the css and code of the plugin to match your site.

You can also use SimplePress http://simplepressforum.com/

I wouldn't recommend any of fahstad.se plugins. At least 2-3 plugins have SQL injection bugs. The programmer hasn't updated the scripts in a few years.

    http://secunia.com/advisories/28567/ search for fgallery too.

    very dangerous stuff.

A few years? Hmmm odd i helped him with version 2.2 just a few weeks ago. I also been using wp-forum for the last year with no problems. Also if you visit his support forums youll see its has the same issues as any other plugin.... nothing about injection bugs. If you EVER find a problem in 2.2 let me know.

P.s If your talking about the bug that doesnt let the tables get put into SQL its a permissions issue, and an easy fix. Im also talking with Fredrik about talking over the plugin myself.

    Re: Forums added to Classipress

I'm a newbie when it comes to WP and don't know a lot about coding etc. I originally had a phpbb forum for my website, but found that getting users to register twice (once for ClassiPress, once for the forums) too much of a hassel. I ended up changing to BBPress which was pretty easy to set up and works perfectly..Looks basic, but suits my needs. I tried out Simplepress, which obviously fitted into my homepage theme, but I found it slow.
