    You should set ad pruning = "No" if you want to keep your ads up even after they expire. If you have it set to "Yes" and then 0 days, it means your ads will be taken down right after they expire so that could be your problem. I

    Concerning my initial problem with breadcrumb plugin, I solved it.
    You need to have your server set to PHP5.

    Me too...
    But could not update server to php5, so I installed php5 as cgi binary as I learned from the magento website:

    now everything works..
    maybe helpfull for others...
