Re: How to translate Classipress in another language

Miguel has provided me with the solution. The explanation I provided above only works if you don't already have a localized version of WordPress running (in other words, no /languages/xx.po files).

The classipress template files need to be updated in order for .po files to work properly. I will send out instructions once it's ready.

    Thanks again Miguel.

Problem solved, mine is localized in spanish and I´m using the .po and .mo files inside the theme folder.

I think the admin will be releasing an update soon.

I have translated the theme and the two files (de_DE.mo,de_DE.po) in the wp-content/languages copied.

Only now is my Wordpress english: (

how can I use the Wordpress and classipress Po files together into a paste, so Wordpress is also German.

    Po who needs the file is available here http://www.fileuploadx.de/744548" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You got it. Then once you put the .mo file in your theme directory and update your wp-config.php file with the correct local, it will work. I am finishing up on the fix and will release v2.8.2 soon. I've also localized the admin pages so it will be a complete translation-enabled theme.

Re: How to translate Classipress in another language

Folks, ClassiPress v2.8.1 has a bug for localization and only will work if you put the .mo file in the wp-content/languages/ directory. Unfortunately if you are using WordPress in a language other than English, then it will have to replace those files. That's not what you want to do. I've been working on a fix all day long and will release it as v2.8.2 once it's ready. This fix will include updates to all the core ClassiPress files.

In the meantime hold off on translating the classipress.po because it's going to change with the next release. The good news is I've gone ahead and setup the ClassiPress admin pages for easy localization too.

I want to thank Miguel for helping me better understand the theme localization process and starting me off with some updated ClassiPress files.

2.8.2 is now live and works well for translations (.mo files). If you want the updated copy, please PM me with the email address you used to buy it from e-junkie. All the core files had to be updated so if you have heavy modifications to your version of ClassiPress, you'll have to be careful migrating over.

Re: How to translate Classipress in another language

    Hello,

I am sorry to bump an old thread but this is still not already clear for me.

So, I downloaded poedit, opened the classipress.po file with it. Translated all the sentences in German. Saved it.
Now, I have a .po file and a .mo file.

What am I supposed to do now?
Whatever I try is successless. Classipress is still in english.

Note: I already installed a localized version of Wordpress which has already a "de_DE.mo" file in the "wp-includes/languages" folder.

    Hi Elie-

I just published a brand new post about "How to translate ClassiPress into another language" yesterday. It should answer your question.

A new version will be coming out this weekend with an updated .po file so I advise that you wait until it comes out so you don't need to translate CP twice.

What language are you going to translate it into anyhow? I'd love to get your finalized .mo and .po for other CP users to use.
