    Issue with Links

When I visit a post in CP after the images section, I have a section called sponsored Links. What is that, how do I edit it? Right now it is acting as a link back to the same page, but opening in a new window.

Also any help on how to stop the URL: from showing http// when there is no website? The http:// is also acting as a link, but it goes no where- saying invalid url.

    Thanks for your help,
    Jax

    Re: Issue with Links

The ads seen at the bottom of the CP ads are able to be set up by accessing the WP admin dashboard > ClassiPress > Configure. Scroll down to "Single Post Ad Spot" to set up or disable this section.

The http:// field being added was actually included in the last release of CP, but it has been a common issue which has come up. In the changelog you can see this information which can point you in the right direction to change it if you wish:
added new function to check for http:// in new ad URL field submission. If it's missing, automatically add it. (form_process.php line 41 & functions.php line 418)

    Hey Pepsi,

Thanks for your help. I fixed the ad spot.

But the URL question, I still don't get it.

I saw this on the changelog:
-added new function to check for http:// in new ad URL field submission. If it's missing, automatically add it. (form_process.php line 41 & functions.php line 418)

I'm not sure what I'm looking for as far as code is concerned, how do I know if it's missing? I open up those pages, but I'm not sure if it's missing because I don't know what it looks like. And if it is missing what do I add?

    Re: Issue with Links

The text in italics is just notes from the changelog, not actual instructions you need to follow. Sorry, I should have been clearer about that. My reason for pointing it out is because it indicates which files David has modified to make it so that the http:// appears automatically, hence can give you a clue how to reverse it (if you have the coding knowledge)..

I believe there are some others who have managed to make the changes, so perhaps someone can share this information with you.

    Pepsi,

Thanks for the clarification. I'm new to a lot of this stuff, but excited to learn as I build my site.

If anyone else has input to help, please share.

    Thanks
    Jax

    No problem

If this thread is missed by others due to it being in the theme support thread, you may wish to start a new one in "mods and tutorials" specifically for your http:// request as that is where customization posts go and someone else who has done it may be able to share. Thanks
