Newbie - who can post settings...

Hi, just installed ClassiPress and am trying to figure out the right settings/permissions for users to post. If I require people to register before posting the process requires emailing out a password, then logging in, and then seeing the Wordpress Dashboard page - which is totally confusing for a casual user. Is there a way to not require registering? I don't intend to charge for posting, at least not in the near future.

The next version (which I'm sure isn't far away), has this user registration issue sorted so they won't see the WP dashboard - YAY!

I don't charge users to post ads either on my site either, but personally I think it is good to have some user registrations to keep things in check..

Thanks for the response. Also a classic case of RTFM on my part! Looking forward to the next version...

Pepsi is correct. The next version due out in a week or two will have a much better user experience. I also recommend setting registration to required. Registered users will have access to a personal dashboard, can edit their ads, and update their profiles.

very cool. can't wait to see the next version.

raises another question: i intend to do a fair amount of modification to the look and feel. will that get me in trouble with future releases?

If you try and keep the modifications only to the .css files, you should be ok. If you do more moving stuff around modifications then yes, it will be more difficult to update your instance of classipress in the future. Lots of customers already do this and when the upgrade comes out, they just bring over the pieces they want.
