Thread: No automated emails

No automated emails

Hello. I have CP up and running well BUT when a new user joins or a new ad is posted, neither I nor the member is receiving a welcome email or an alert email. I've been through all the possibilities I could think of (including my junk mail box) and still can't crack it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Sometimes web hosts don't allow emails to be sent from within php code. That could be one possibility. Do you have access to the log files? Usually the error.log will show you if something is not working correctly. If not, you might have to email your host and ask if they have this restriction.

Hello. Well, I've been on to the host and they DO allow automated emails from the PHP script. So that's not it. Any other possibilities? Thanks in advance.

You might as well try this plugin which configures the classipress email with smpt http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ .

also i have problems with the emails.
i let users to post ads unregistered. need a modality to send them an email of confirmation. the php works fine because at every ad posted i get an email..
