Option Contact Owner Registered User Only

When using the Classipress, one of the issues I have is allowing people to contact others on the form.

Is it possible that there can be an added option that only registered users can contact other users? The reason for this is that I wouldn't want spam or just random people abusing the system and writing messages.

This isn't a problem, but it could be in the future, and I think the best way to mitigate it is to prohibit just anyone from contacting a poster.

Is this somehow possible?

It's possible but hasn't been a problem yet (just like you said). Once you start seeing this problem then we can talk about building a solution.

I would love to see this feature as well to be honest (I'm sure I have mentioned it before somewhere).. but not because I'm worried about them spamming users. Mainly it is to do with having some form of tracking of the people who use the site..a small way of getting at least some user information for the security of other users who are placing ads. Also, it means I can include them in my own mailing list to try and keep repeat visitors

The reason I am afraid of spam is that it only takes one bot or one goofy person and to send out stupid messages. If enough of them get spammed, then my site ( or my entire server IP ) could be blacklisted, and the mailing function would be useless.

Not saying that this would ever happen, but the work to get out being blacklisted isn't something I would like to have. I am trying to tweak this for a rideshare program within a school, so it would be a great control factor to have if it ever gets made.

Ok, that makes more sense. I'll add it to the list as a new option. For now, I recommend using this great plugin that stops spam bots before they even hit your blog.

I have it on the list as a new feature for either 2.9.3 or 2.9.4
