Password generated to something simpler

Could i make the password generate into something simpler than J6jx3#ks for my users?

Alternatively, could i let them choose a password?

this is really letting my conversion rate down at the moment.

You could try using a plugin such as WP User Registration http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...word-register/. Allows users to select their own password and has a validation code..

I did try this. It works, but then I get two confirmation emails. One with the password I created and one with another auto generated password.

Any clue, pepsi? Or others..

You'll only be getting 2 emails if you're using the plugin in conjunction with another registration or email related plugin. On its own it will work great, but it's ultimately not a "recommended" plugin as such..so its not included in any CP testing..
