problem with dashboard link

Hi,

The dashboard link on top of the main page seems incorrect, as my admin.php loaction is:
www.domain.com/main/wp-admin/index.php
but the dashboard link shows:
www.domain.com/main/dashboard/

Can I edit that somewhere ?

..as it should. You have obviously followed the steps to create the Dashboard page, and you have permalinks set to /%postname%/ so I'm not exactly sure why you would want to edit http://www.domain.com/main/dashboard/ to something else when this is how it is supposed to be? Am I missing something or not understanding properly here?

Sorry pepsi,

it's my mistaken , I didn't create the pages.
But now all three pages are created as per instruction,
but it still return 404 error.

Where should I look in to ?

would that be just the server error or some incorrect admin setting ?
Cause all sub pages (including all tested working ad's/ about page) are returning 404.
But all the ad's still appear on the main page.

It will be related to the permalink settings change, however can and should be fixed. You will probably notice if you put permalinks back to default, all the pages will show again..but of course, you will want to get the custom permalinks working, as this will be better for your SEO.

First thing is to check the permissions of your .htaccess file.
Do you see any error messages relating to .htaccess when you look at the WP dashboard Settings > Permalinks page? This will often indicate a permissions problem.

yes,
I saw an massage there mentioned that my .htaccess is not accessable or something,
and ask me to paste the code to .htaccess, but I didn't do that.

But sice I switched back to default permalinks, and switch it back to custom again,
then everything seem fine now.It's pretty strange

Also, since my site is in Chinese, so would there be a problem when search engine reading
my links in Chinese ?

Well glad to hear your permalinks issue is sorted anyway

I would assume that search engines would pick up whatever language is relevant to the region/country using it? Are you using any of the SEO plugins?

no, I don't have SEO plugin.

BTW, I might start the website all over again
with other hosting provider, cause I found that my
existing free one is not as stable and slow.

Hello admin, my problem is the following:
after installing ClassiPress when I try to access the control panel as Common User, the site returns a 404 not found, have changed the permalinks and left as the default in wordpress, but it's still the error.

Another problem is the time to edit the listing. The wordpress instead of showing the panel's default ClassiPress it returns the default wordpress url showing the control panel of wordpress instead of the default ClassiPress, or the User has total control over the announcement may change the custom fields.

My site is hosted in hostmonster.com, and I wonder if these problems are happening because the server or is this error ClassiPress same?
