Properly installing Classipress on Godaddy server

    Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie of sorts and need some help to properly install Classipress to a domain with Wordpress on a Godaddy server. I installed but uninstalled Classipress, I couldn't figure out how to save my images after a few test post, I also couldn't figure out how to upload my logo to replace Classipress logo. I don't understand php or css and know a little about Wordpress.

    Please help

The logo part is easy..you can edit that from the WP admin area.. Just go to Classipress settings > General Configuration and you'll see the heading with description: "Website Logo Paste the URL of your website logo image here. It will replace the default ClassiPress header logo".

    Thanks Pepsi,

    Tried that (http://www.mydomain.com/image" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false didn't work.
I only got the underlined name of my domain.

Re: Properly installing Classipress on Godaddy server

    Hi Pepsi,

Elliott again, it just dawned on me. I don't have a website with a logo, so I can't do as instructed. I have wordpress and using Classipress as a theme. Under General Configuration and Website Logo box what do I place there

Also in the Classipress image folder (In Wordpress)I got this error message:

Warning: opendir(../wp-content/uploads/classipress) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/content/40/4624140/html/bestadlistings/wordpress/wp-content/themes/classipress/functions/admin-options.php on line 701

I did upload my logo image to the images folder(server dbase)of my domain could it cause the error message

Did you read through the entire classipress installation guide? It sounds like your upload/classipress images directory hasn't been created.

For adding your website logo you first need to upload that to your site. This post will explain how to do this. In step #4, you'll see a "Link URL". That is the url you need for the next step so copy it.

Next, you'll need to do what pepsi mentioned above. Copy and paste your "Link URL" new image url into the ClassiPress website logo box.

Save and the logo should appear on your site.

Re: Properly installing Classipress on Godaddy server

    Hi all,
I appreciate the help I received in solving the problem I had. After completely reading the instructions I began to understand, however I couldn't use Filezilla for some reason I couldn't get connected to the remote system to upload files.
I found out Godaddy had a separate ftp program and ended up using it which worked fine.

I have one small problem : on displayed ads page I noticed there's no info under "posted". If I'm not mistaken the posted date of the ad was in this location and somehow shifted. Take a look: http://bestadlistings.com/

    You have two options.

    1) In the WordPress general options page, change your display date format to a shorter option. There are a couple to choose from.

    2) Change the master.css .location width value from 170px to 140px.
